On Thursday this week we got three groups to perform three plays. My group (Tessa, Charlize, Nathaniel, Blossom, James and I) did a play called 'The Santa Trap'. We performed first but we had all day to practice. I was Amy, Tessa, was Sophie (the goody two shoes), Blossom was Dylan, Nathaniel was Santa, James was Michael and Charlize was Tania. The play was about 4 horrible and naughty kids trying to trap Santa so he would give them presents. They make a plan and build the evil trap and they actually catch Santa! But not everything went their way becasue they did NOT get what they asked for. You see, these kids all had bad traits, Michael never did his homework, Tania didn't eat vegetables, Dylan never tidied his room and Amy never changed her underwear. So, they all got things that were the worst things possible to each of them... But Sophie got a lovely little doll!
In this play there was no main character but Sophie only had one line so we gave her a couple more.
The next play was a play about Santa's reindeer going on strike but before they went on strike Santa was feeling a bit down.... anyway, the reindeer wanted milk and biscuits instead of hay and carrots. Santa was thought to only get a bite of a biscuit and a sip of milk but actually he got cake, biscuits, cupcakes and the occasional chocolate eclair. Mrs Claus didn't know about that. When the truth finally slipped out she told the reindeer they could have milk and biscuits and told Santa off. Soon after Santa told everyone why he was sad. It was because he was giving out many, many presents but he never got any! The reindeer then told Santa they had a surprise present for him.
The last play was a play named 'Anyone for a Sandwich?' This play was about a girl (in the book it's a boy) who has really plain sandwiches and everyone else has very fancy sandwiches. Although the girl has plain sandwiches everyone wants to swap with her! One person gets a jam sandwich, one gets a peanut butter and one gets a marmite.
Land Girls
Wow! I can't believe land girls is finished! I stumbled many times but I kept going and the same with probably all of the other cast. I think everyone including Emily did an act-tastic job. Emily was an amazing director and prompt, she encouraged us and helped us. I personally loved the Sunday practices!
TAN ARTICLE Sunsmart Week 2016 Who enjoyed Sunsmart week this year? I know I did! This year the WAVE team have been busy focusing on Sunsmart week. We organised "The Amazing Race" with many different activities, taught a couple of classes the Sunsmart song and also did a mufti day where students were encouraged to wear sunny colours! Money we raised went to CANTEEN and our Sponsored student in India. We hope everyone enjoyed Sunsmart week! Remember to wear your hats and stay sunsmart this summer! By Lily Brophy.

St John
Wow! I'm very relieved I now know how to do all of those things that the St John workers taught us! Thank you so much Shayne and Sasha! It was very generous of them to help us learn first aid! I am now actually considering becoming an ambulance worker, nurse or doctor! I don't think my past self would be very happy with that decision because I used to absolutely hate blood, I'm not bad with it anymore though!
I am a Script
I am a script, I tell a story. I give people joy! I make them laugh, cry, scream and smile. I can be overly dramatic and sometimes not dramatic enough. My words can mesmerise people as well as bore them! I have many different characters with so many different personalities. I can be different from other peoples perspectives, I can be dumb, boring, rude but I can also be exciting, funny and entertaining!

Creepy Dolls
Creepy dolls glare and stare, Frightening noises are all you can hear, Lightning strikes late at night, and the dolls eyes shine spooky and bright, sitting on the chair beside your bed, with a knife that means you will soon be dead, creeping closer and closer with no expression at all, floorboards creaking underneath the possessed doll.
Your throat is slit, blood goes drip, drip, drip, you struggle and struggle, but she keeps you in her grip, your scream is heard through the black of night, as the doll kills you underneath the moonlight,

What Shelley talked about:
Shelley talked to some of the people at Antarctica about their jobs there. She talked to 3 or 4 people while they were at their work stations. They all were making old objects better. She asked a lady about a hut. A man called Robin Falcon Scott built it and she said that other expeditions have used it ever since it has been built. The building is an Australian building so it didn't really work as a shelter from the cold. The people with the Scott including him just stayed in their ship and used the hut as a storage room, a theatre and other things.
My thoughts on what it would be like to work in Antarctica:
Horrible! It would be freezing and you would only be there to do science or stuff like it! Probably the upside to it all would be you would get a huge adventure! But I don't think I would enjoy working at Antarctica because it's not really my thing.

Hillary's been Trumped
How I found out:
Well, I was just watching TV when my mum said to change the channel to CNN and I did. We saw the election and I couldn't believe it! How could America do that to themselves!
My Opinion:
My opinion is that Trump is a joke and Hillary should have won! She's a great leader and would be the first women president! Donald Trump is racist and sexist!Hillary needs to stand next time and if not Michelle Obama.#I'mWithHer!
How he won:
Well, I don't know for sure but I have a feeling it was rigged! Donald Trump seems like the kind of person to cheat. Otherwise some 20 year old's were playing a game of truth or dare and one of them got dare...
Others opinions:
Blossom: Americans are silly. And she cannot believe it because Donald Trump said I'm going to build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it.
Tessa: That he should never have been America's president and that Hillary should've won.
Charlize: Hillary deserved to win and Donald's hair is ridiculous.
I really am!
I just want everyone to know I'm with her!
I also found this coming from Fusion.net
Never underestimate how much America hates women
My face was like this when Trump won

His Everest expedition set up a base camp in March 1953, it also set up a camp at the South Col where they were held up for two days because of the weather.
On the 11th of January 2008 he died of heart failure in Auckland City Hospital. He was aged 88 at the time. On the day of his death was supposed to be the day he went home from the hospital! How sad is that!
Edmund was going to join the Royal New Zealand Air force but changed his mind because he was "harassed by his religious conscious". But he did join it in the end as a navigator. In 1945 he was sent to Fiji and the Solomon Islands where he was very badly BURNT!

They crept into the enormous house and turned on their flashlight. As they stepped in the door swung shut with a loud bang! The walls of theabandonedhouse wereshadowyand the floorboards werecreaky. Slowly, they climbed up the stairs, glancing behind them once in a while. Soon they found a door, the door was lightly open and they could hear whispering coming from inside of it. Reluctantly, they pushed open the door and what they saw was unforgivable, there was a monstrous, menacing, green, magicalcreature chanting a spell! "AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!" screamed the two and the fearsome monster turned around in a swift motion.
The monster stomped over to where they were and said in aspine-chillingvoice "Who dares enter?" the two werepetrifiedby thisterrifyingmonster so they both.... ran! They sprinted down the many wooden stairs, across the creakyfloor and "Wait!" yelled theunearthlymonster and they froze. "Please don't hurt us!" exclaimed the two to thefrighteningthing. The monster breathed heavily on both of their necks, it smirked and it had a greedy look it its eyes then it suddenly said "Why wouldn't I." and grabbed them by their feet and dragged them up the cold stairs.
It put them in a boiling cauldron and sung a spooky song. It placed carrots and peas in the cauldron and sighed "You two are meaty enough I guess." Theghastlymonster turned away for a second so the two jumped out of the cauldron and began their escape. Down the stairs, across the floor, through the door and out the gate. Finally they were away from thehorrifyingmonster that lived in the abandoned house in the middle of the fearsome forest.
My Passion...
Drama! I love drama, it will always be my passion! I've always enjoyed being on stage, mostly because I get to be the centre of attention! The most exciting thing about drama for me is learning the lines in a certain amount of time! I know weird right, but it's true! When I grow up I want to be an actress and activist. Acting is an amazing experience and I love it. To be honest I absolutely hat watching other people perform something I wanted to do, but I do have to feel happy for them because they deserve it!
The Time Turner will tell you what to do, You must listen what it has to say, Or soon your chances will have gone away, Use the turner and change history, And unlock the magical time mystery, Disappear into the passage of time, And go back to before bedtime, Read the words on the side, And then decide whether you want to confide in the journey of time,
The Time Turner will get you there, Just give it one spin for an hour, And you will have enough power, Once you’re there your battle has begun, Good luck! Now fight for your loved ones.
Now you have learnt that a small necklace it may be, But it has more power than you see.
By Lily
My use and value unto you, are gauged by what you have to do. I mark the hours, every one. Nor have I yet out run the sun. - Time Turner
I wrote this on google docs and copied and pasted it so that's why it looks different.
Gender Equality
This is all about Gender Equality in case you didn't read the title. Well, i'm going to start with what gender inequality is. Gender inequality is when men are treated better that women (or the other way around) just because they're men. Now you can probably guess what gender equality is, it's when men and women are both treated fairly despite their genders.
When someone doesn't like gender inequality and believes in gender equality then they're called a feminist. I'm a feminist and I'm definitely proud to be a feminist because I think everyone should be treated fairly. If you're a feminist you can be part of the United Nations HeForShe campaign, I want to be in it but sadly I'm kind of too young!
Emma Watson is the Ambassador for it and she was how I found out about HeForShe because she did a speech for HeForShe. Here's the speech link!
I think your decision for nor more camp is barbaric! To be honest with you I am not at all fond of tramp but I lived through it because I knew camp would be at the end of it. You know if you’re taking away camp from us all then you should obviously take tramp away! I mean that would just be totally unfair! Life is all about enjoying yourself and being adventurous and camp is all about those two things!
Here’s a good way to help you change your mind! Think of yourself in our shoes, would you want to go on camp? If you were 12 years old and you were told there was to be no more camp, how would you feel?
You’re probably going to come up with some really clever argument that will be really challenging to argue with but everyone in our class wants to go on camp! And also some people might have never been camping before!
I asked Blossom, Tessa and Charlize what they really enjoy about camp.
Blossom: Learning to manage yourself. Tessa: The activities because you get to have adventures!
Charlize: The concert because you get to show your creative side!
There is some proof that camp is very popular! I think that you should really think about taking away camp because some people practically everyone loves camp!
So there are my reasons to keep camp.
Sincerely,
Lily Brophy year 7
Water Challenge
This month (November) is water only month. Water only month is when you only bring water to school, no fizzy drinks or anything like that.
For me it doesn't mean that much because I always bring water to school anyway so I don't really think it will effect me. At home I also drink water and very occasionally milk and I hardly ever drink lemonade. My favourite drink is water especially when it's cold water but I also like OVI.
Water might protect against some types of cancer. I am definitely going to drink water forever!
Water gives you clearer skin. That would be helpful!
Water boosts your immune system. It makes you more immune to sickness.
How you can make drinking Water more fun!
Put fun ice cubes in! You can freeze some water with food colouring in and use them as ice cubes!
Add a cucumber or something to make it look cool!
Get a colourful glass or water bottle!
Colour the water with some fun colours!
Make your own water bottle/glass!
You will need:
One jar
One straw
One plastic lid (same size as jar)
What to do:
Cut a small hole in the middle of the plastic lid (about the same size as the straw)
put the straw through the hole
fill jar with water
Place lid onto the jar and screw it on tightly!
You're done!
CONFESSION: I do like some fizzy but I only like it flat of course!
Meet the Locals - Jazz
And more Jazz
On Thursday the 27th of October Blossom, Monique and I did a Jazz performance at meet the locals! We did 7 dances! We did to exercises, 4 Amalgamations and one made up dance. My favourite dance we did was the start of Evil Like Me by Dove Cameron and Kristin Chenoweth because we had to have evil faces and I love being evil! And you should really come to the concert because Blossom and I will be continuing Evil Like Me to the end and it's going to be pretty wicked!
When I Grow Up I want to be a...
I want to be an actress and activist! If HeForShe ( www.heforshe.org/ )is still going I would like to be a part of that. It would be really cool to be in a movie with Emma Watson or Dove Cameron! My idol (Emma Watson) is both of those awesome things and she inspired me to be an actress/activist! I would like to go to Otago University and then move on to an Ivey League like Oxford, Harvard or Yale. The reason I want to go to University is because I want even more education and I want to inspire kids to go to University! One day I want to win an Oscar because that would be amazing! I also wouldn't mind being on the famous red carpet either!
So hopefully one day I become an actress or activist or (I'm really hoping for this) both!

Smaug Attacks
Who is the main character in this description?
How do we know this description is fantasy?
What do you is the writers purpose in this description?
As the dragon attacks the town, which of his actions do you find the most exciting?
Did you enjoy reading this description?
Smaug the Dragon is the main character.
You know it is fantasy because there is a dragon in the description and dragons are not real (of what we know...)
I think the writer wanted to make the readers excited and want more, for them to enjoy reading.
I liked it when Smaug swooped his tail and one of the houses roofs crumbled.
I did enjoy reading this description because it was exciting and had lots of interesting words!

Antarctica Research
The Scott Base is a New Zealand Antarctic research facility found at Pram Point on Ross Island.
I personally wouldn't like to go to Antarctica because it would be freezing and I don't think sailing to there would really be my thing. Antarctica sounds amazing but I'm pretty sure it's not my kind of amazing.
I think I will learn lots of interesting facts when we go on the virtual field trip and I really hope I do!
Ice cold Antarctica!
Drama With A Dragon
"Thank you Miss Cameron! You did a great job! You may leave." Smiles the drama teacher (Ms Watson) at my school, I had just done an audition for Paige's Dragon. As I step off the stage I hear her say "Melanie Firebreath" and watch as a large, purple and green DRAGONstomps onto the stage happily. Wow! A real life dragon, it's Maleficent all over again! Even the name and colours!
"Em! It's for you!" yells my mum, she sounds happy "Coming mum!" I hurry down the wooden stairs and grab the phone off of her "Hello?" I squeak trying to hide my excitement "Hello there Miss Cameron! You got the part of Paige in Paige's Dragon! Well done, rehearsal starts tomorrow at 1:00!" WOW! "Bye" I hang up. Slowly I place the phone down and crept back up to my room. I shut my door quietly and..... SCREAM WITH HAPPINESS! "I GOT THE PART!!! EEEEEKKKK! I'M SO HAPPY!!"
"Hi!" smiles the same dragon as on Monday. "Um... Hi? What're you doing here?" I ask quietly "I got the part of Ellie the dragon!" Okay so my co-star is an ACTUAL dragon! "Well, my name is Melanie and um... what's yours?" okay she just wants your name you don't have to be her friend "Emma, my name's Emma" I give a weak smile. To be honest this dragon doesn't seem my kind of pers- dragon she's kind of... to happy? Is that a thing because if it is she is definitely that!
1 hour later
Thank goodness that's over! That dragon girl is so annoying! I hope we don't have many more rehearsals! "Alright everyone!" yells Francis the director of the play "Please practice your lines and get together until next Sunday!" Okay, looks like we'll only see each other once a week. That's okay... I guess. " Hey, Emma! Do you want to come to my house to practice!? That is if you want to." REALLY?! "S-sure um.. when?" Please say Thursday (I have basketball) "Today?" Aaaaarrrrggggghhhh "Sure, let's go!"
Melanie's House
"Mum! I have a friend!" yells my host "ROOOOAAAAARRRR!" Um... "What d-did she s-say?" I ask kind of wishing she had come to my house "She said that's fine. Come on!"
Later
"Bye Emma! See you on Sunday!" Oh yeah, I forgot "Bye!" I never knew a dragons house would be so much like a humans house! I still don't like her though! She needs to get in my good books if she wants to do that again! I definitely can wait till Sunday! Hopefully I'm sick!
Sunday
"Hello everyone! Today is the scene where Paige fly's into the sky because Ellie gave her magical powers! Hopefully nothing goes wrong and we have an enjoyable rehearsal! Let's start! Emma come here please Kayla will put you on the wire!" I hastily walk over to where Ms Watson is standing "Hello Emma! Could you stand here please?" Ms Watson points to the middle of a red circle painted onto the shiny wood. She hooks me up and suddenly I feel my feet lifting off the ground... I'm flying! "Everything okay up there Ms Cameron?" calls Ms Watson "Yeah I'm fi- Aaarrrggghhh!" the floor is getting nearer! Help! "HELP!" And suddenly Melanie runs and jumps under me so I fall onto her instead. She saved my life!
"Um..." I walk over to Melanie slowly "Thanks, I guess you saved my life. So here." I hand her a little key ring with the letter M on it "Thanks! And it's not a big deal really. Friends save friends right?" Well, she did save me "Right."
Play Night
"And now presenting the last act of Paige's Dragon!" I walk on stage with Mel behind me "So what do you think of the city Elle?" Come on Mel, remember! "It's beautiful as long as it has you in it!" That line's so sweet "Thanks Elle! Come on let's go back to the forest and make a new fort. We really need to! Otherwise where are we going to live?" I look over and see a girl named Alice walk in "You can stay with us tonight! It's raining and cold so come in to our house!" Mel "Okay!" Me "Let's go!" And we walk off of the stage for the very last time as Paige and Ellie - human and dragon best friends and walk back into ourselves Emma and Mel - human and dragon best friends.
Suddenly Mel fly's into the air and light beams come out of her scales and wham! She's..... HUMAN! "M-mel? Is that still you?" I go to sit next to her "Yeah. It's me, I didn't tell you that every two generations of dragons turn into humans and... well, I was one of those generations." Wow! "Well, that means you can buy more than just those baggy clothes now AND you can go to my school!" YAYAYAYAY! I'm so mean I should've known Mel was a nice pers- drag- person, a nice person. "Let's go to the mall!" I help Mel up and she asks "What's a mall?" I have a lot to teach her! "You'll see!" And I walk off, out of the glass doors and into the busy street with my new best friend.

Book Review
The book I am reading now is called Geek Girl: Picture Perfect.
Holly Smale is the author and here is the information on the back:
Harriet Manners knows a lot of facts.
New York is the most populous city in the US.
Its official motto is 'Ever Upward'
27% of Americans believe we never landed on the moon.
What I found most interesting in the "Introduction to Antarctica" video
I found the fact that the lady was going to take a cute little toy all the way to freezing cold Antarctica the most interesting thing in the video because it's such a little thing and it's going to ANTARCTICA! I really want to see our ambassador in Antarctica as well.
What I am most looking forward to about the field trip
I am most looking forward to seeing Antarctica in virtual reality from the comfort of our classroom.
What I think I will learn...
I think I will learn the climate of Antarctica, how many penguins live there and more. I hope I do learn a lot because Antarctica is a very interesting place.
Who should be the TAS ambassador
I think we should send Earl the Worm because he's a caterpillar but we call him a worm. If not I think we should send Francis the Tiger because I love tigers!
Beautiful part of Antarctica
Jazz
In Jazz Blossom and I are doing a duet to Evil Like Me by Kristin Chenoweth (Maleficent) and Dove Cameron (Mal), Evil like me is from Descendants.
Monique, Blossom and I are also performing at meet the locals!
Witches
The Grand High Witch
I knew, of course, that this was none other than the Grand High Witch.
My Halloween Costume/ Person
Hermione Granger! Hermione is an awesome witch who goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is best friends with Ron Weasley and Harry Potter.

Antarctica
What I already know:
It is a continent.
It is a very cold place.
Penguins live there.
New Zealanders set up a base called Scott Base.
This is what it looks like there...
A picture of a freezing cold Antractica
Antarctica
Antarctica is covered in freezing cold ice so it will obviously be very cold.

What I Know about Dairy Farms
They have a lot of cows and those cows produce milk. A while after the cows have produced milk they are taken to the freezing works to get killed and made into milk.
There are many types of animals including chickens (eggs), cows (Milk), Pigs (Pork), Lambs (Lamb) etc.
Cows milk can be turned into butter, cream and cheese.

My Holiday
First Week: Swimming Lessons, Queenstown In the first week of the term 3 holidays my family and I traveled to Queenstown for one week of splashtastic swimming lessons. Elena was my teachers name, she was Italian which was so cool! We had 1 lesson a day from Monday to Friday, on Monday we practiced Freestyle and I really enjoyed it because at the end we did some tumble turns of Backstroke, Freestyle and Breaststroke, on Tuesday we mainly practiced Backstroke which is my least favourite stroke and the one I find the hardest, when it was Wednesday we did breaststroke and breaststroke turns (my favourite type of turn), on Thursday we did Butterfly legs! I enjoyed doing butterfly the most because the kick is the same as mermaid kick. I got very lucky because I used flippers to do butterfly kick underwater to see how far I could go and I went a whole length without breathing! And finally when Friday came we did Butterfly arms! I really enjoyed going to Queenstown and we did do more than swimming lessons here are some things we did:
Had a delicious lunch with the former Mayor
Went to see Pete's Dragon were we saw my mums friend who I hate now because he shot Elliot! And The Secret Life of Pets (not on the same day!)
We went shopping of course!
And that was my first week of my holiday (without to many details) ;-)
You are a Gumdrop on the Grocer's shelf. A young person just put you in their cart. Think about your adventures in the Cart. Write a story about this gumdrop's adventure.
"I can't wait to be put in a cart and have huge adventures!" said my best friend Maddie with a deep sigh. Meanwhile I was staring at the cart in front of us when... I was grabbed by a massive hand and plopped into the trolley! "Emma! Wait for me!" exclaimed Maddie "No it's to" she fell and splattered all over the floor "NOOOOOOOOOO!!" I couldn't believe it, I started to climb up the trolley when I saw the most astonishing sight of my life... Maddie was alive! "Why'd you yell no?" asked Maddie confused "because I thought you were gone." I replied quietly "Well I'm not so let's get this show on the road!" she smiled "Okay...But if you didn't fall on the ground then what was that splattering sound?" I asked and looked around the isle "I don't know an I don-" she paused and added ever so quietly "Emma, don't move there is a, a, a giant milk bottle behind you." My mouth opened as slowly as possible as I turned around to see an enormous, white and angry milk bottle staring straight down at me. "MOVE!" yelled the frightening beast. We didn't budge "I SAID GET OUT OF MY SPOT!" The bottle was starting to become furious ""NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT!" I yelled to the gigantic monster "ALRIGHT THEN!" He grasped us in his large, cold fingers and decided to swing us around until we um.... I don't know what the point was but he swung us for what felt like years! Suddenly I had a brave thought! I decided to climb up the milk bottles "Woah!" I almost fell off! Anyway, his arm. I reached his shoulder and leaped into the air and grabbed onto his earlobe.I finally reached his lid. I unscrewed the lid as fast as I possibly could. The milk bottle was obviously angry because all the milk gushed out through the hole and onto the now milk-covered ground. I jump down off of the large milk
How To Use A....
Nothing! I don't know any scientific instruments. Sorry to disappoint you with the fact that there will be no teaching at all about science. Instead I will tell you about science!
Science: Past Scientists: Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, Michael Faraday, Alessandro volta, Albert Einstein and more!
Science Experiments to try: Reflecting rainbow through drinks (Charlize and I), electricity (Whole class), mixing oil and water (Tessa and Georgia), invisible test tube (Blossom) and more!
There are all different types of science including chemistry, physics, astronomy and biology. I personally enjoy chemistry well, even though I have never done it but it sounds pretty spectacular because you blow things up!

The First Paragraph in my DEAR Book Right now is...
My name is Harriet Manners, and I know I am a model. I know I'm a model because:
It's Monday morning, and I'm wearing a gold tutu, a gold jacket, gold ballet pumps and gold earrings. My face is painted gold, and a long piece of gold wire has been wrapped around my head. This is not how I normally dress on Mondays.
I haven't been allowed to smile for two hours.
(These two are not the only reasons from the book, but there are four more so that's why I didn't do all of them.)

Rainbow Reflection
By Lily and Charlize
Predictions:
Charlize:I think only the water will make a rainbow, I also think Lemonade will make a rainbow.
Lily:Most of them except for raspberry will work because raspberry isn’t that see-through.
Conclusion
Lily: As we predicted water worked fine. Lemonade worked almost as good as water did but when it was in plastic it worked better. For ice-cream soda there was a rainbow, the plastic bottle had a very visible one but the glass only had a vague one. Raspberry only worked with glass.
Charlize: Water definitely worked. Lemonade also worked, but you can’t see rainbow really well in the glass. In plastic you can see the rainbow more visible. Ice- cream soda did work, but In the glass you can see a little bit. Like the Lemonade, Ice-cream soda in the plastic, worked as well. Unfortunately, Raspberry didn’t work in plastic but worked in glass!

Charlize and I are doing a rainbow reflection project which also has light facts. We tested 5 different types of drinks with glass and plastic and saw which ones made rainbows. We put our results onto a slide and decorated it with pictures, facts and more.

I can see it! I can see the end. Suddenly I reach my hands out and smack the end of the pool. I take a deep breath and look around. I hear a huge roar of screams, shouts and claps. It's that moment when I am hit by it... I WON! I hop out of the pool with a massive grin on my dripping wet face. My coach comes to congratulate me and send me off to get dry.
"Bronze medalist" I feel my heart pumping faster and faster and I can hear it beating louder and louder. "Silver medalist" I can smell the other medalists flower bouquet and the (very strong) medal presenters perfume. "Gold medalist Mireia Belmonte, Spain!" I can see my coach who has a wide grin on his face. "Thank-you! Thank-you!" I say beaming. I decide to bite my amazing gold medal, it tastes like, it tastes like... victory!
BREAKING NEWS

Name: Mireia Belmonte Okay, so it's freestyle right? Yeah, freestyle alright, 200 metres take a deep breath. "Aaahaa" I can see so many people and all my opponents getting ready, I wonder how- keep my mind on winning. I hear the loud buzz of cheering and chattering from the crowd, with a faint ripple of the warm water. I think I can taste fear, wait, no, that's just spit and a little bit of my breakfast haha. SWIMMING! I think in my head, I need to focus. I smell the interesting smell of the pools salty chlorine and hot chips coming from the crowd, how annoying! I feel warm sweat dripping down my forehead and the cold water on the swimming block around my feet. Suddenly "On your marks, get set GO!" And we thunder down the pool.

Where I am at: I am up to page 122 out of 387 and chapter 27. So far she has been dumped by her boyfriend, her summer plans have been ruined, she has travelled on a plane with her over excited grandma, her step-mother is pregnant and she is in Japan for a modelling trip.
I can predict that something will go wrong at the photo shoot and since she is jealous of the baby her step mum will tell her that she (Harriet) is still her favourite in the family.

News from the News
Rio De Janeiro Buildings have been made for the Olympic Games and they will be turned in to Legacy Projects. Rio is still facing heat over its Olympic preparations though. After the games people living there will have their daily travelling transformed. Apartment sales have been slow for the Olympic Villages, after the Olympics any people can live in them. A Rio local said that it is going to be like the football world cup: White Elephants everywhere and a lot of thieving and corruption. People living in Rio doubt that there will be any upgrades for them because the focus is on tourists and once the tourists leave it will be chaos again.
The big question is: Even if the games prove a big success, at a total cost of 20 billion dollars will it have been worth it?
Awesome current events research about the Olympics Lily ... Class Dojo points for you!!!! Miss M
10:00 AM - Saturday sleep-in! That's how I would describe a lazy Saturday morning. Watching TV and contemplating life was what I did that morning, luckily in the afternoon I was going to Tessa's house for an extremely weird sleepover. I think I underestimated that "extremely" part because little did I know it would be so fun and strange.
3:45 PM - 17.3 minutes until Tessa comes, it was time to check if I had everything. Done! Okay what time was it, why do I always get this thing where I get so excited?
4:02.3 seconds - *knock knock* I rushed to the door, Tessa and I said hi and we hurried to her car and hopped in.
Unknown time - Tessa asked me what I wanted to do when we arrived at her house, she suggested we play "The Sims 4" so we went over to the computer and started to play. The characters we made were really weird, one was blue and really fat with a face like Voldermort and one was skinny green and had a face like a chimpanzee. We then made to other girls and made them the daughters of the weird ones. The girls we made were pretty and didn't look anything like the other ones.
later - After dinner we tried to make a chocolate fudge, it didn't work. We were playing a game we made up where we put 10 numbers to a hat and wrote down what we had to say if we pulled out a specific number. Since the fudge didn't work we ate a little bit of it, it was very, very sugary and very, very sweet also delicious!

Mean Girls
By Lily ( I have to write down this name so I don't forget it | baxter | ok done ( its the boys name))
I take a deep breath as I walk through the doors of my first day at Savanna High in Violetmaple. Boys are playing football in the hallway and girls are giggling at them. I take a step into the hectic school, my head is spinning as I look down at the piece of paper that has the number of my locker on it. Finally I find my locker, there are popular kids KISSING in front of it! Oh no! What am I going to do, there are 2 popular kids in front of my locker KISSING! The boy looks up, I feel like I've seen his face before but younger. The girl then looks up, blonde, tanned, stereotypical, looks like shes probably cheer-captain one of those horror stories! I bet you're thinking that she's going to be mean and i'm going to fall for the dude like any other fairy tale. You're wrong... i'm going to skip a lot of this story up until I meet this girl and boy.
"Oh look, its some looser freshman" I hear the girl whisper with a grin on her face. "Hey! What's your name? Mine's Tiffany
Mathletics Results Term 3
I am very happy with my result, I didn't go up from last term but I didn't go down either so I am glad. My result stayed 72 percent which is good.
Update: We did the test again and I got 78%! YAY! I am VERY, VERY happy with my result!
Emma Watson (My idol) UN Goodwill Women Ambassador for the campaign!
HeForShe is a campaign for the rights of women. I found out about it 2 years ago when I was watching youtube, I watched Emma Watson's speech when she became the ambassador. HeForShe is part of the UN (United Nations) community. I support HeForShe because it could change the world when it comes to woman rights. Urgent!
Please come to the Twizel Tussocks netball teams home game on Wednesday the 27th July at 2:30 pm in the Event Centre!
Come and cheer for your junior netball team when they play against Kurow Red in a nerve-racking and nail-biting game of fair-play and fun netball! Last time we beat them by only 2 so they are out for revenge! I amreally exited and hope Miss McLennan brings our class to see Tessa, Blossom and I try our hardest against an amazing team.
If we don't win oh well but... I LOVE winning! So we better win, also so I can say "Bam-What!" in front of everyone! Good luck to them and I hope we have an awesome and interesting game.
sincerely, Red-face Lily (because I get a red face when I play sometimes, which is most of the time) anyway BYE
Tonight I was on my bed looking out of the window and suddenly this quite large sort of orange coloured shooting star orcommit appeared, just in case it was a shooting star I wished for something. Whatever it was it was only in the sky for 2 seconds and went out quite quickly with almost a bang, not the sound.
It was a sight I had never seen in real life, it was also quite spectacular! Listen to this it is catchy!

Highlights from this term
PRODUCTION:The production has been a really awesome experience and I also love being on stage! Sadly the production is over now but I loved played Tahi one of the evil and mischievous Pakepakeha, with Blossom (Rua), Kaya (Toru), Crystal (Wha) and Holly (Rima). I got told by Emily that I had a good acting voice which was awesome!
MUSEUM TRIP TO OAMARU: It was an awesome adventure and we learnt a lot of interesting facts. The museums we went to were both fun and interesting. The 4 we went to were cool and super educational!
Term 1 highlights
CAMP: My favourite part of camp was definitely Huxley, I enjoyed the games we played at night and sleeping on a bed felt really good.
TRAMP: It was a highlight but it wasn't really the best, although at least I know what it is like now and will be ready for the next time. Quote of the Week

MAKE UP: Keep maybe mascara and lipstick (RED) but give away all the other stuff because I don't really like make up.
FOOD: I would keep chocolate, cucumber, potatoes and watermelons!
TOILETS: I would have toilet paper, toilet brushes etc!
MILK: I would get chocolate milk, banana milk, strawberry milk and cream!
MEAT: Chicken, salmon, lamb!

My speech is about _ but it used to be about netball until I changed it.
I have one of these, it used to be a tabby but now it is a tabby bobtail cat!
I have one of these to, they are called Bicolor cats, mine is alot older though.
SUNDAYREHEARSAL
We got lucky! Rehearsal only went till 5! Although there were no breaks and we weren't aloud to eat in the theatre (which is understandable) it was fun because the Pakepakeha (Kaya, Crystal, Blossom, Holly and I) went out when we weren't on and learnt our dance. It is getting so close to the production nights so hopefully everyone has learnt their lines, I know I have and am really exited for a rehearsal in our costumes! On Saturday the Twizel Tussocks went to Oamaru to play a game of netball. That meant Holly, Blossom, Tessa, Bailie, Soffe, the two coaches and I all arrived at the van sheds early in the morning. I had to get up at 6:45 am because Blossom was coming over to my house for an hour before netball because her family were going away for the day, she also stayed at my house for an hour after as well.
The game was fun and intense. Sometimes it would go, goal for OIS goal for Twizel, I was a shooter as well as Bailie, I thought we shot well and I really enjoyed the day.
Blossom got player of the day for playing well through the whole game! Her and Holly did very well as Holly had only played once there before and Blossom hadn't played in a while.
Tessa did really well because she made some great intercepts and tips at the defensive area of the court.
I really enjoyed Saturday, I thought we had lost until I was told well done! We won 7-5! YAY! So I did what i always do when we win, BAM-WHAT!! Storybird is so cool! link: https://storbird.com

Matariki Recipe
Kumara and Onion Soup
Ingredients 2 onions, diced 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped. 1 heaped teaspoon of coriander seeds 750 g of red kumara (peeled and diced) 250 g of potatoes (peeled and diced) 750 ml chicken or vegetable stock 250 grams of coconut cream The rind of one orange, finely grated Salt and pepper to taste. A few slices of pancetta.
Method Roast the kumara and potato in a moderate oven until they are just starting to colour (about 15-20 minutes) Take them out of the oven and briefly roast some slices of pancetta until they are crisp. Toast the coriander seeds in a frying pan and then grind them in a spice grinder or with a pestle and mortar. Fry the onions and garlic gently in a frying pan until they are soft. Do not let them brown. Add the coriander and continue to fry briefly. Next add the roasted kumara, potatoes and stock. Bring the mixture to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes. By this stage the kumara and potato pieces should be tender. Blend the soup with a stick mixer until it is smooth. Stir in the coconut cream and orange rind. Reheat the soup, but do not let it boil as the mixture may separate. Season to taste and serve garnished with roasted pancetta and some crusty bread alongside.

The Mysterious Phone Call
Audrey's Diary (1926)
"And this is the last exhibit, it is some - " Ring ring! Ring ring! Ring ring! Ring ring! A phone goes off somewhere above the museum where I was taking a tour. "Timothy! Can you take the tour while I get the phone, I think its mine!" I start to jog up the stairs, after I have reached thedark and spooky attic. I open the door and it scrapes the floor with a defining screech. The ringing sound is still bouncing off the walls but a phone is nowhere to be seen. I take a step and the floor boards creak underneath my boots. I take another step. Suddenly the door slams shut and the lights go out, I feel cold, the ringing doesn't stop. My heart is pounding, I reach for the door an grab hold of a small handle, I try to pull but the door is tightly shut. After rummaging through boxes and feeling the wall I find a light switch, I flick the switch and suddenly the ringing stops. I walk over to the door, pull it and find it is unlocked! I have never gone in there again. - Audrey Whitterton aged 18, 23/06/26
100 years later
Wow, that is freaky, I soooooo wanna go in their! " Guys theres something I wanna tell you!" "Coming!" "Be right there little sis!" "Okay!" Oh my god! I did not know the museum was haunted, I can't wait to tell everyone! " So, what did you wanna know or tell us?" Asks my oldest sister and sibling who works at the very same museum today, Chloe. t is it? "Read this, its from like our great, great grandma or something." Finally they have all read it and we have agreed that we are going out tomorrow to investigate.
The next day
My sisters and I all trudge through the winter snow on the streets to get to my sisters work. "We're here! Now, where did the diary say it happened?" "Upstairs in the attic, it also happened on this very day 100 years ago." I whisper "Wow, really?" Chloe whispers back. "Now that I think about it I have heard a phone ringing up in the attic but it sounds like it has been answered every time it rings.
They stay overnight in the museum waiting for the mysterious phone to ring
Ring ring! Ring ring! "Hello, yes they have fallen into our trap, you know they found my diary, I know its good, yes they probably did read it seeing as they are here right now! They will soon be like me, a ghost that haunts museums, hahahahaa *sighs*

What I like about this year...
I think its great that I am in a class with a year older than me because last year I was with younger people.
I made new friends eg. I didn't know Charlize before this year.
Changing classes (more responsibilities)
The production
Having different teachers
learning different maths strategies (so far I have learnt 2 or maybe 3, I don't know how many to be exact...)
Coming up with even more weird things
All in all I have enjoyed this year alot and can't wait to see what term 3 will be like! I just love this it makes no sense at all and thats why I love it. I seem to like it for its randomness and that it has a chicken on it.
Funny
A couple of days ago a 22 year old sing named Christina Grimmie died, she was killed by a crazed fan who then killed himself. At first I only knew a girl was shot and I didn't know it was her but later on in the day I searched it up, it came up with her name. The reason I m putting this on is that she sang with one of my idols Dove Cameron.
I know as a "celebrity" I'm supposed to post something inspirational & move on after 24 hours, but I am human and don't know how to process. Dove Cameron posted onto twitter after she found out.
Room 15 Museum Trip to Oamaru and Duntroon
Last week on Tuesday Room 15 from Twizel Area School went for a trip to Oamaru to learn about museum curators. The first place we went to was the Forrester Art Gallery, some of the paintings were by Colin Wheeler who we have talked about in class before. The curators name was Elizabeth King she showed us some quite interesting paintings and artefacts.
The next museum we went to was the North Otago museum the curators name was Chloe Searl the North Otago museum wasn't very big but it had interesting artefacts like the art gallery. Nathaniel's mum asked if the curator thought there was a ghost haunting the museum, sadly she said there wasn't but she added that sometimes a phone rang upstairs somewhere but she has never found the phone!
Oamaru's Prehistoric World was the third museum we went to, it had all sorts of interesting items. The man showed us an interesting dinosaur video, the museum had a few dinosaur sculptures made out of wood but there were two dinosaur heads with light in them that looked quite realistic. There were two videos, there was one in another room with a small video as well as the one in the first room we visited.
The final museum we went to was a fossil museum called Vanished World in Duntroon, the curator was named John Hoar he told us some interesting facts about fossils and more. There was a statue of a really large penguin that people were allowed to get there photo with, I did and I was quite a lot shorter than it but I am used to be short.
I really enjoyed my day and loved lunch, my favourite museum was Oamaru's Prehistoric World because it had quite a lot of interesting things but I enjoyed visiting each and everyone of them. On the 11th of June the Twizel Netball club watched a netball game of the Southern Steel vs an Australian team named the Fire birds. We all sat in one area wearing our jerseys with our names on them so the man that was introducing and talking to the stadium said "And over here we have the Twizel Netball Club".The game was very interesting because it started as a close game but in the end the Steel won 66-51. After the game the team went into an area where the Steel were signing autographs on posters, my poster was a bit wrecked because well, I was in charge of it soooo... anyway, when I reached the table where they were signing I couldn't help but do one of those weird girly "eeks" because I was so excited. Some of the players knew where Twizel was so that was really cool. After the signing my mum asked a really good player to get a photo with me and she said yes! All of the team got a photo with some players. There was a singer while we were waiting for the game to start and when she came near us Tessa and I waved at her and she waved back smiling! At half time there were some dancers doing flips and jumps and so on, they were called the 'Otago Dancers'. We got on TV, which was really exciting! I really enjoyed my time there and I hope we watch another netball game next year. Where I would like to go and what I would like to be when I am older...

Yesterday while I was sick I watched Hillary Clinton make her acceptance speech. She thought it was a historic day for women. If she wins to Donald Trump she will be the first Woman President for the United States of America! Her husband was the president from 1993 to 2001 to, his name is Bill Clinton. I would vote for Hillary Clinton because Donald Trump is, well...... moving on! The speech was awesome (despite the fact at the start her microphone wasn't on so you couldnt hear her) I also thought it was a milestone for women in history. My Two Favourite Quotes of the Week There will be 2 each Thursday because its Thursday right now and I want to put something on the wiki! With pictures. They will be of famous young people (mostly girls because I don't like, any boys sooo) to show people that they aren't just pretty and famous pop stars, movie stars or models. Plus I put this on last week.

Questions for Museums
Forrester Art Gallery: Do you have any world renound artists paintings in here
North Otago Museum: What is your favourite expedition you have seen here?
Oamaru Prehistoric World: What was the smallest dinosaur you can think of?
This term we are planning a trip to some museums in Oamaru. I have never been to Oamaru museums but I am exited to see them. This year I am in the production. The py hejfdroduction is called "Tukarekare's Dream" in the production I am a Pakepakeha along with Blossom, Holly, Crystal and Kaya. My favourite line is "Not that great" after someone says something about a naughty person who was a persons great great great (I don't know many greats) great grandfather.
My name is Tahi, Blossom is Rua, Kaya is Toru, Crystal is Wha and you can probably guess who Holly is.... She's Rima in case you didn't know haha.
I can't wait for the production!! It will be so exiting and hopefully I will have learnt all my lines, I have two bug lines that I've already learnt so hopefully that will make it easier for me to learn my lines.

Colin Wheeler
Colin Wheeler
Colin Wheeler was an artist, poet and author who lived in Oamaru. He died in 2012 at the age of 93. He was born in Dunedin 1919 and he moved to Oamaru in 1951 where he built a house. In his house there was a big window, he would sit and look out that window and paint the landscape outside of it everyday because it would always be different.
Dictation
The Prince and the Albatross Egg 1994
The video conference began with a girl from Halfway Bush School explaining the nesting habits at the Royal Albatross Colony on the Otago Peninsula.
Prince Charles arrived and sat down quietly amongst the Wellington children and listened. Then he took a microphone and began asking questions.
"What is the wing-span of the adult Albatross?"
"Up to 3.5 metres," they all answered together.
"And how big is an Albatross egg?"
The Dunedin children held one up in front of the television camera.
The Prince noted that it was very big - no room for two eggs in an Albatross nest.
Then came an unexpected royal question.
"Can you eat an Albatross egg, do you think?"
There was a long silence. No one in New Zealand would think of eating a royal Albatross egg. There are only a few nesting pairs in New Zealand, and we are carefully protecting them. But other Albatross eggs? On sub-Antarctic islands where they are common?
Nobody knew the answer - except me. I was dying to butt in. I had lived on Albatross and Penguin eggs while teaching in the Falkland Islands. Huge eggs that filled a dinner plate, and turned into a heavy transparent jelly when cooked. Eggs with a distinctly fishy flavour
Netball is a sport that has many rules. The most important rule is not to step with the ball. There are positions and boundaries, GA (Goal Attack) , GS (Goal Shoot) those two are the shooting positions.
First netball game of the season
The first game was great because we won 5-3 and I got two goals in!! We went to McDonalds and all the team had ice-creams! It was really fun and next week Blossom will be playing!♥ This week I am reading... Geek Girl by Holly Smale

Lake Pukaki
Lake Pukaki is in Canterbury, 94 miles by road from Timaru. It has an area of about 31 square miles, and lies at about 1,620 ft above sea level. The country that comprises the 523 square miles of its catchment is drained by two main rivers, the Tasman and the Hooker. The Tasman River is fed by rainfall and melt water from the Tasman Glacier and its tributaries, the Murchison, Ball, Hochstetter, Rudolf, and numerous other glaciers. The Hooker River obtains its water from rain and melt water from the Hooker and Mueller Glaciers and their tributaries. The total inflow to the lake varies between 600 and 30,700 cusecs, with an average of about 5,000 cusecs, The lake water is not clear, as it carries much fine sediment in suspension, and is cold (46°F). The lake occupies the lower end of a glaciated valley and is confined by a moraine 16,000–18,000 years old. The outflow, and consequently the storage capacity of the lake, is controlled by a dam (the lake level can be varied between 1,610 and 1,637 ft above sea level), thus enabling more effective use to be made of the water by the 105-megawatt Lake Waitaki hydro-electric station. Other stations planned or under construction will also use water from Pukaki. The meaning of the name is obscure but, according to a legend, Raikaihaitu (who dug out the Southern Lakes), noticing the bulging appearance of the outlet, gave this name, meaning “bunched-up waters”. by Leslie Eric Oborn, A.O.S.M., New Zealand Geological Survey, Christchurch.

ANZAC day

Staying there was funny because over the week her husband left and then came back, her daughter came and the mayor even went to CHINA and came back!! Her house was big, there were three floors and a couple of balconys. I took some pictures so I could remember the awesome house.
Movie/s: Descendants AND Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (the third one)//
Animal: CAT!!!
Food: Chocolate or strawberries or watermelon of lobster or OMW (O M Wowza) what the heck some kind of food.
Nerfertiti
Nefertiti was an Egyptian princess. At the moment people are trying to find her tomb, they think that there are two secret rooms around a kings tombs room. But they are not sure about it. Today is the fifteenth of April, it is the last day of school!! It is also my idols birthday.
Almost Done Term One
Wow! It's almost the end of term one already! I have had a great first term in room 15 I have to say. There's already been camp and I actually know what to do, well, more than I did before. My favourite part of term one would have to be having a locker, or having a computer, or switching to different classes, or camp! Yes, camp not tramp but camp. 😜
My goals next term are
To speak up more in class conversations
To try to get better and maths and get one or two stanines higher
use rich language in writing like poems, letters etc.
Read challenging books so I can challenge my brain more
Book Review
This week I am reading Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. Tessa leant it to me one day when I finished my book and didn't have another, but I love it so I am still reading it.
Penny has a secret. Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, high school drama, her crazy family, and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah, a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret, too, one that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.
Being the Oldest
Being the oldest is hard, because I always have to be the one who stops the fights, is sensible and gets hit but doesn't get to hit back. Also, I never get to chose the colour of clothes, I'm lucky I like blue. He gets to sleep in longer than me in the morning which is annoying because I get up at twenty to eight and he gets up at five past eight! He also tells on me and it works and sometimes he would start the whole fight, then he would get me into trouble and my mum would say "your the oldest so you don't have to keep the fight going.". Another thing he does is he likes to look at what I'm doing and then when I would say go away I'm doing something he would tell on me and get away with it. I would like to see how my brother'd cope being the oldest for a day. It's not easy being the oldest, but that's the way it is for me.
On to the good things... It can be good being the oldest because I get to be in charge when my brother and I are at home alone (which is only for like, 5 minutes sadly). Being the oldest also gives me privileges like staying up later than him. It is also cool because I can boss him around sometimes. Another thing is i get a longer camp than him, so boom! Camp Recount
"Bling-a-ding-ding" I shriek because I got something right in the (strange) game if guess who Tessa and I played at the Camp Concert. I am a crazy character and I just won the game! It was really fun to do that.
This is what I got for the "Which tree are you?" quiz.
Book Review
This week I am reading Coming Home by Lauren Brooke.
Amy calls Heartland home, and ever since she can remember she's watched her mum instill trust and hope in horses that were once fierce and afraid. Amy's inherited her mother's gift, the ability to listen to horses and understand what they need. But when a tragic accident changes everything, Amy must cling to what her mother taught her - that miracles really can happen at Heartland.
My Passions...
1.to stop gender inequality and make men and woman equally important. 2.To educate myself and go somewhere like Harvard or Oxford to study law. 3.To meet SMASHTASTIC famous people!!
Easter
Easter to me was like a chocolate Christmas, but where you had to hunt for the prize. Easter to me this year is probably going to be the same. It is a fun holiday where people get time to spend with their family's, or pets. I love Easter because I love chocolate and having fun. Every year that I can remember I have hunted for eggs, so that's a tradition. I cannot wait for Easter this year because its a five day holiday! The thing I love most about Easter is the chocolate, I mean chocolate is so good! But I also love having fun.
Tall trees swaying in the delicate breeze, the sun glistening on the crystal clear water, birds chirping making a beautiful tune, large mountains watching over Twizel and its busy citizens, silver salmon splashing as they leap out and back in to the cold water, rivers rush fast as if they are chasingor running away from something, streams swoosh in and out of our town, on cold days the wind stabs the peoples faces like icicles, on warmdays the pool is like the cafeteria at lunchtime, so many things to do, so many places to go, Twizel, gorgeous, full of nature Twizel, its heaven on earth, Twizel, my place in this world. - Lily
On top of the world!
Almost... there...
Waiting for tramp
Say dazzleberry!
Don't look down!!
Those were cold mornings!
Another milo, another day.
Jazz Hands!!
Just chilling
Me: Ding! Tessa: Why did I let her be the sounds?
Eeekkk i love to act!
I really enjoyed camp at Huxley Lodge last week. I have to say that the tramp was a new feeling for me but now I know what to expect so I was relieved. My favourite part of camp was the Camp Concert. Tessa and I did a performance together and Charlize, Tessa, Georgia and I did a play. The performance Tessa and I did was a funny version of Guess Who the game. Being the New Kid was what our play was called and the best thing about it was we all pitched in to write it. My favourite act to watch was probably the cookie play Blossom and Holly wrote. - Lily🤗🤓😜
My idols are Emma Watson and Dove Cameron. My favourite colour is blue. My favourite TV show is Liv and Maddie. I want to be a Lawyer when i grow up. My favourite sports are netball and Swimming. I love to win. Bam-What! My favourite movies are Descendants and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. My favourite song is Better In Stereo Theme Song Version - Dove Cameron My other Favourite song is Out Of The Woods - Taylor Swift My other other favourite song is Froyo Yolo - Dove Cameron - Lily🤗🤓😜
I love Froyo o o oooo its so yolo o o oooo
THAT Letter
Yesterday the class were all given THAT letter, I took mine home and left it on the table for my mum to find. She did and she said "Oh look! You're going to be talking about THAT thing!" Not in those exact words, she actually said the dreaded P word.
What could have Happened
I could have gone home and said "Here you go, bye" and given it to her.
I could have just given it to her and walked away.
I could have said "Here's THAT letter we've been waiting for!"
Term 4
Play Recount

Sunsmart Week 2016
Who enjoyed Sunsmart week this year?

Creepy dolls glare and stare,
Frightening noises are all you can hear,
Lightning strikes late at night,
and the dolls eyes shine spooky and bright,
sitting on the chair beside your bed,
with a knife that means you will soon be dead,
creeping closer and closer with no expression at all,
floorboards creaking underneath the possessed doll.
Your throat is slit,
blood goes drip, drip, drip,
you struggle and struggle,
but she keeps you in her grip,
your scream is heard through the black of night,
as the doll kills you underneath the moonlight,

Donald Trump is racist and sexist! Hillary needs to stand next time and if not Michelle Obama. #I'mWithHer!
I just want everyone to know I'm with her!
I also found this coming from Fusion.net
Never underestimate how much America hates women
My face was like this when Trump won

The End
Sir Edmund Hillary
Sir Edmund Hillary ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Hillary ) went on the Everest Expedition in 1953 with Tenzing Norgay ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenzing_Norgay ). He was the first person to ever climb Mount Everest alongside Tenzing Norgay (The highest mountain in the world).
Spooky Moment (using descriptive vocabulary)
They crept into the enormous house and turned on their flashlight. As they stepped in the door swung shut with a loud bang! The walls of the abandoned house were shadowy and the floorboards were creaky. Slowly, they climbed up the stairs, glancing behind them once in a while. Soon they found a door, the door was lightly open and they could hear whispering coming from inside of it. Reluctantly, they pushed open the door and what they saw was unforgivable, there was a monstrous, menacing, green, magical creature chanting a spell! "AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!" screamed the two and the fearsome monster turned around in a swift motion.
The monster stomped over to where they were and said in a spine-chilling voice "Who dares enter?" the two were petrified by this terrifying monster so they both.... ran! They sprinted down the many wooden stairs, across the creaky floor and "Wait!" yelled the unearthly monster and they froze. "Please don't hurt us!" exclaimed the two to the frightening thing. The monster breathed heavily on both of their necks, it smirked and it had a greedy look it its eyes then it suddenly said "Why wouldn't I." and grabbed them by their feet and dragged them up the cold stairs.
It put them in a boiling cauldron and sung a spooky song. It placed carrots and peas in the cauldron and sighed "You two are meaty enough I guess." The ghastly monster turned away for a second so the two jumped out of the cauldron and began their escape. Down the stairs, across the floor, through the door and out the gate. Finally they were away from the horrifying monster that lived in the abandoned house in the middle of the fearsome forest.

The Time Turner
The Time Turner will tell you what to do,
You must listen what it has to say,
Or soon your chances will have gone away,
Use the turner and change history,
And unlock the magical time mystery,
Disappear into the passage of time,
And go back to before bedtime,
Read the words on the side,
And then decide whether you want to confide in the journey of time,
The Time Turner will get you there,
Just give it one spin for an hour,
And you will have enough power,
Once you’re there your battle has begun,
Good luck! Now fight for your loved ones.
Now you have learnt that a small necklace it may be,
But it has more power than you see.

This is the HeForShe website www.heforshe.org/
Go HeForShe!
My Letter to the Board of Trustees (This is FAKE)
Dear Board of Trustees,I think your decision for nor more camp is barbaric!
How you can make drinking Water more fun!
Make your own water bottle/glass!
You will need:
One jar
One straw
One plastic lid (same size as jar)
What to do:
You're done!
CONFESSION:
I do like some fizzy but I only like it flat of course!
If HeForShe ( www.heforshe.org/ ) is still going I would like to be a part of that.

Drama With A Dragon
"Thank you Miss Cameron! You did a great job! You may leave." Smiles the drama teacher (Ms Watson) at my school, I had just done an audition for Paige's Dragon. As I step off the stage I hear her say "Melanie Firebreath" and watch as a large, purple and green DRAGON stomps onto the stage happily.

Antarctica
What I already know:This is what it looks like there...

First Week: Swimming Lessons, Queenstown
In the first week of the term 3 holidays my family and I traveled to Queenstown for one week of splashtastic swimming lessons.
Instead I will tell you about science!Science:
Past Scientists: Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, Michael Faraday, Alessandro volta, Albert Einstein and more!

Science Experiment With Charlize
Quote of the week Sports Edition
My Science Project with Charlize
Charlize and I are doing a rainbow reflection project which also has light facts. We tested 5 different types of drinks with glass and plastic and saw which ones made rainbows. We put our results onto a slide and decorated it with pictures, facts and more.

I can see it! I can see the end. Suddenly I reach my hands out and smack the end of the pool. I take a deep breath and look around. I hear a huge roar of screams, shouts and claps. It's that moment when I am hit by it... I WON! I hop out of the pool with a massive grin on my dripping wet face. My coach comes to congratulate me and send me off to get dry."Bronze medalist" I feel my heart pumping faster and faster and I can hear it beating louder and louder.

Okay, so it's freestyle right?

Where I am at:
I am up to page 122 out of 387 and chapter 27.

Rio De JaneiroBuildings have been made for the Olympic Games and they will be turned in to Legacy Projects.

My Super Awesome Smashtastic Weekend!

Update:
We did the test again and I got 78%! YAY! I am VERY, VERY happy with my result!

I am really exited and hope Miss McLennan brings our class to see Tessa, Blossom and I try our hardest against an amazing team.
If we don't win oh well but... I LOVE winning! So we better win, also so I can say "Bam-What!" in front of everyone! Good luck to them and I hope we have an awesome and interesting game.
sincerely,

Tonight I was on my bed looking out of the window and suddenly this quite large sort of orange coloured shooting star or commit appeared, just in case it was a shooting star I wished for something. Whatever it was it was only in the sky for 2 seconds and went out quite quickly with almost a bang, not the sound.
It was a sight I had never seen in real life, it was also quite spectacular!
Listen to this it is catchy!

Highlights from this term
PRODUCTION: The production has been a really awesome experience and I also love being on stage!

SUNDAY REHEARSAL

Matariki Recipe
Kumara and Onion SoupIngredients
2 onions, diced
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped.
1 heaped teaspoon of coriander seeds
750 g of red kumara (peeled and diced)
250 g of potatoes (peeled and diced)
750 ml chicken or vegetable stock
250 grams of coconut cream
The rind of one orange, finely grated
Salt and pepper to taste.
A few slices of pancetta.
Method
Roast the kumara and potato in a moderate oven until they are just starting to colour (about 15-20 minutes)
Take them out of the oven and briefly roast some slices of pancetta until they are crisp.
"Timothy! Can you take the tour while I get the phone, I think its mine!" I start to jog up the stairs, after I have reached the dark and spooky attic. I have never gone in there again.- Audrey Whitterton aged 18, 23/06/26
100 years later
Wow, that is freaky, I soooooo wanna go in their! " Guys theres something I wanna tell you!"
"Coming!"
"Be right there little sis!"
"Okay!"
Oh my god! I did not know the museum was haunted, I can't wait to tell everyone!
" So, what did you wanna know or tell us?" Asks my oldest sister and sibling who works at the very same museum today, Chloe. t is it? "Read this, its from like our great, great grandma or something."
Finally they have all read it and we have agreed that we are going out tomorrow to investigate.
The next day
My sisters and I all trudge through the winter snow on the streets to get to my sisters work. "We're here! Now, where did the diary say it happened?"
"Upstairs in the attic, it also happened on this very day 100 years ago." I whisper "Wow, really?" Chloe whispers back.

All in all I have enjoyed this year alot and can't wait to see what term 3 will be like!
I just love this it makes no sense at all and thats why I love it. I seem to like it for its randomness and that it has a chicken on it.
This is their song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqnZiKPFbPs
RIP Christina Grimmie

Quotes of the week
1.
2. No matter what happens in life always be good to people, being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. - Taylor Swift
My Two Favourite Quotes of the Week
There will be 2 each Thursday because its Thursday right now and I want to put something on the wiki! With pictures. They will be of famous young people (mostly girls because I don't like, any boys sooo) to show people that they aren't just pretty and famous pop stars, movie stars or models. Plus I put this on last week.
1 Don't feel stupid if you don't like what everyone else pretends to love - Emma Watson
2 Never let anyone tell you not to do something because its not "ladylike". Are you a lady? Congrats.
everything you do is now ladylike. - Dove Cameron
Both actresses and my idols, girls on TV aren't just pretty!

Dictation
The Prince and the Albatross Egg 1994The video conference began with a girl from Halfway Bush School explaining the nesting habits at the Royal Albatross Colony on the Otago Peninsula.

Netball
Netball is a sport that has many rules. The most important rule is not to step with the ball. There are positions and boundaries, GA (Goal Attack) , GS (Goal Shoot) those two are the shooting positions.First netball game of the season
The first game was great because we won 5-3 and I got two goals in!! We went to McDonalds and all the team had ice-creams! It was really fun and next week Blossom will be playing! ♥
This week I am reading... Geek Girl by Holly Smale
Harriet Manners knows alot of things:
Cats have 32 muscles in each ear
Bluebirds can't see the colour blue
The average person laughs 15 times per day
Peanuts are an ingredient in dynamite
But she doesn't know why no one at school doesn't like her.

ANZAC day
On ANZAC day I went to the dawn memorial. I was tired but I enjoyed it. They played the New Zealand national anthem and the Australian one, Micah read a poem and someone played the bagpipes. It wasn't that cold either because for most of it I didn't need my jacket.

My Holiday
In the first week of the holidays I went to Queenstown and stayed with my mums friend/ the mayors house. Staying there was funny because over the week her husband left and then came back, her daughter came and the mayor even went to CHINA and came back!! Her house was big, there were three floors and a couple of balconys. I took some pictures so I could remember the awesome house.
What I am interested in at the moment...

Nefertiti was an Egyptian princess. At the moment people are trying to find her tomb, they think that there are two secret rooms around a kings tombs room. But they are not sure about it.Today is the fifteenth of April, it is the last day of school!! It is also my idols birthday.

On to the good things...It can be good being the oldest because I get to be in charge when my brother and I are at home alone (which is only for like, 5 minutes sadly).
You are a Red Mangrove (Rhizophora mangle)
Though it may look tangled and messy, the red mangrove serves and important purpose along coasts in Florida, Louisiana and Texas. It attracts a diversity of birds, fish and even crocodiles.
You attract people, too. Friends know to find you at the beach, enjoying the summer—rain or shine. You’re the goofball among your buddies and a quick draw with a great joke.

My Region
Twizel
Tall trees swaying in the delicate breeze,
the sun glistening on the crystal clear water,
birds chirping making a beautiful tune,
large mountains watching over Twizel and its busy citizens,
silver salmon splashing as they leap out and back in to the cold water,
rivers rush fast as if they are chasing or running away from something,
streams swoosh in and out of our town,
on cold days the wind stabs the peoples faces like icicles,
on warm days the pool is like the cafeteria at lunchtime,
so many things to do,
so many places to go,
Twizel, gorgeous, full of nature Twizel,
its heaven on earth,
Twizel, my place in this world.
- Lily
I really enjoyed camp at Huxley Lodge last week. I have to say that the tramp was a new feeling for me but now I know what to expect so I was relieved. My favourite part of camp was the Camp Concert. Tessa and I did a performance together and Charlize, Tessa, Georgia and I did a play. The performance Tessa and I did was a funny version of Guess Who the game. Being the New Kid was what our play was called and the best thing about it was we all pitched in to write it.
My favourite act to watch was probably the cookie play Blossom and Holly wrote.

THAT Letter
Yesterday the class were all given THAT letter, I took mine home and left it on the table for my mum to find. She did and she said "Oh look! You're going to be talking about THAT thing!" Not in those exact words, she actually said the dreaded P word.
